Downtown Buenos Aires
Downtown Buenos Aires is mainly a commercial and business area, where the most important businesses and banks are located.
Downtown Buenos Aires is ideal for cultural tourism, as it hosts many important buildings built during Buenos Aires’ “Golden Age” in the early 20th century.
Downtown Tourism
9 de Julio Avenue: Named in honor of the Argentine Independence Day. Until recently, it was considered the widest avenue in the world. Tourists can find hotels, businesses and shops along the sidewalks.
Florida Street: This was the first paved road in Buenos Aires. Nowadays, it is a pedestrian walkway and one of the most important commercial districts in town. Florida Street is a perfect place to buy souvenirs, leather goods and upscale brand items.
Downtown Buenos Aires surrounds the Montserrat neighborhood, the area where Plaza de Mayo is located, as well as the most important historical and governmental buildings in Argentina.
