Belgrano

Belgrano is one of the largest neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. Along the tree-lined streets, modern apartment buildings in Belgrano rise over elaborate mansions and embassies built in the height of Argentina’s cultural and industrial boom.

Tourist Attractions

Belgrano is home to one of the busiest and most bustling commercial centers in Buenos Aires. Middle and high-end retails stores line the streets surrounding the Cabildo and Juramento intersection.

Just steps away from the Cabildo and Juramento intersection, you will find the Manuel Belgrano plaza which boasts an eclectic street fair that is open daily and is perfect to visit for an evening stroll.

In front of the plaza is the Immaculate Conception Church (Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción), most commonly known as “La Redonda,” which refers to the church’s round architecture. It was built in the 19th century and was inspired by the Pantheon in Rome, Italy.

At the intersection of Arribenos and Juramento is Barrio Chino, the Chinatown of Buenos Aires. Here one can find all sorts of Asian restaurants and grocery stores where plenty of fresh and exotic products can be found.

Barrancas de Belgrano is a well-known park in Buenos Aires. The park, which rests above a defunct river, was designed by renowned landscape artist Carlos Thays, who also designed the city’s Botanical Garden, the congressional plaza and many other important and symbolic green areas around the city.
